We are extremely proud to announce James Alcock as our Dee Richards PRIDE Champion for 2025, an award that recognises individuals who not only perform at the highest level, but who truly live the values that defined Dee Richards and continue to shape we clean today.

James is a longstanding and highly respected member of our Specialist Cleaning Division, and his journey within the business is a powerful example of sustained personal development, commitment, and professionalism.

Over the years, James has evolved significantly under the tutelage of Specialist Division Directors Tim Byng and Steve Rawlings, gaining both the technical expertise and leadership capability required to operate at the very highest level.

Through this close working relationship, he has built a deep and practical understanding of what epitomises we clean as a business… from delivering consistent service excellence and accountability, to putting people first and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

That understanding is reflected in the way James approaches his work every day. He consistently goes above and beyond, not just to meet expectations but to raise standards, particularly in challenging and time-critical environments where experience and judgement matter.

His professionalism, calmness, and reliability make him someone the business can depend on when it matters most!

The Specialist Cleaning Division is an integral part of we clean, supporting a wide and varied client portfolio and delivering some of our most complex and demanding services.

Much of this work happens behind the scenes and requires a high level of commitment, including unsociable hours, long shifts, emergency response callouts, and working under significant pressure.

James has embraced these challenges throughout his career, demonstrating resilience, flexibility, and a willingness to step up whenever required, often at short notice.

Tim Byng and Steve Rawlings, Specialist Division Directors, shared the following comment:

“James has grown enormously over the years and has taken the time to truly understand not just the technical aspects of the role, but what we clean stands for as a business.

 He is dependable, hardworking, and always professional, particularly when dealing with challenging or emergency situations.

James consistently goes above and beyond, and this recognition as Dee Richards PRIDE Champion is thoroughly deserved.”

Reflecting on receiving the award, James Alcock said:

“I’m incredibly proud to receive this award. I didn’t know Dee personally, but through working with Tim and Steve over the years, I’ve heard so much about the standards she set and the values she stood for.

To be recognised with an award that carries her name really means a lot to me and I fully understand the significance and gravity of this award.

Tim, Steve, Paul and David have developed a business that genuinely cares about doing things the right way, and I’m proud to be part of a team that lives by those values every day.

The importance of the Specialist Division and James’s contribution to it, was also highlighted by we clean Directors Paul and David, who commented:

James has made a tremendous contribution to this part of our business since joining back in 2019 not just through his technical ability, but through his can-do attitude, reliability, and commitment to our values. He represents exactly what we want our specialist team to be.”

Beyond his technical ability, James is also known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and the respect for those around him. He is a very popular and well rounded member of the team, reflecting the very best of our People First culture and acting as a role model for the younger members of the Specialist Cleaning Team.

The Dee Richards Champion PRIDE Award carries a significant and heartfelt meaning across the entire organisation, and there is no doubt that Dee herself would be immensely proud of James, not only for the service he delivers, but for the values he conducts himself by every single day!
