Powering Performance: We Clean Delivers Specialist Support for The Brand New SnowDome Gym

When it comes to creating unforgettable leisure experiences, The SnowDome in Tamworth remains one of the UK’s most iconic destinations. Already renowned for its real snow slopes, ice rink, climbing wall, pool, sauna, and vibrant hospitality facilities, the venue has now unveiled its latest innovation — a state-of-the-art ‘SnowDome Gym’ designed to offer a world-class fitness experience.

As the approved Cleaning Partner for The SnowDome for over three years, we clean was proud to play an integral role in the development, launch, and ongoing maintenance of this premium facility. From an intensive pre-opening deep clean to the establishment of a tailored ongoing cleaning regime, our team has ensured that the new gym opened in pristine condition.

A Partnership Built on Trust and Consistent Delivery

The relationship between we clean and The SnowDome began more than three years ago, built on shared values of quality, reliability, attention to detail and a real willingness to adapt throughout their ever-busy festive season. Throughout this time, our teams have worked collaboratively to maintain the entire SnowDome complex, supporting daily operations across multiple leisure environments — from snow and ice areas to swimming facilities, retail outlets, hospitality suites, and now, an elite-level fitness space.

Our success at The SnowDome is underpinned by a dedicated on-site cleaning team, supported by structured management oversight, regular audits, and continuous professional development. The result is a partnership that has evolved far beyond a traditional client-supplier relationship: it’s a performance partnership based on transparency, innovation, and shared operational goals.

Preparing for Launch: A Deep Clean of the Highest Standard

Ahead of the new gym’s grand opening, we clean delivered a comprehensive, week-long deep cleaning programme to ensure every aspect of the facility met both hygiene and presentation standards expected of a world-class brand like the SnowDome.

Led by Specialist Cleaning Division Directors Steve Rawlings and Tim Byng, and supported by our experienced Operational Team, the deep clean covered every square metre of the space — from fitness zones and functional areas to changing rooms, corridors, and staff facilities.

 Our works included:

  • Floor maintenance and scrubbing: Using high-productivity scrubber-driers and rotary machines fitted with oscillating pads, our operatives removed installation debris, adhesive residues, and fine dust particulates from the newly installed rubber and vinyl flooring systems.
  • Technogym equipment detailing: Each cardio and strength machine was cleaned with neutral pH detergent solutions applied via microfibre technology to prevent streaking or corrosion. Sensitive touchscreens and chrome fixtures were treated with isopropyl-based wipes for optimal hygiene without affecting surface coatings. This was ongoing task throughout the week for the team as last minute building and remedial works carried on around them.
  • High-level cleaning: Our IPAF-trained technicians used extendable vacuum poles and HEPA-filtered extraction systems to clean exposed ductwork, structural beams, and lighting rigs — essential for preventing dust fallout that can impact both aesthetics and air quality.
  • Disinfection and touchpoint sanitisation: All contact surfaces — including handles, handrails, lockers, and free-weight areas — were sanitised using EN1276 and EN14476-certified disinfectants, ensuring effective elimination of bacteria and viruses while remaining safe for users and surfaces.
  • Ventilation and air quality checks: Grilles and diffusers were thoroughly cleaned to support indoor air purity and airflow efficiency — crucial in high-intensity workout environments.

The result was a facility that didn’t just look immaculate but was clinically hygienic and operationally ready to welcome members from day one.

A Bespoke Cleaning Regime for a Premium Fitness Environment

Following the successful opening, we clean are introducing an expanded daily cleaning regime tailored to the specific requirements of a high-use gym environment. Operational Business Manager Richard Wharton and Contract Manager Ryan Halford will be working hand-in-hand with SnowDome management to ensure our operational schedule integrates seamlessly into the site’s daily rhythm, balancing visibility, efficiency, and minimal disruption to users.

Our bespoke gym cleaning regime includes:

  • Technogym-specific cleaning protocols: Using manufacturer-recommended cleaning agents and lint-free materials to prevent damage to sensors, touchscreens, and resistance components.
  • Enhanced floorcare programmes: Daily mechanical scrubbing and periodic burnishing to prevent sweat contamination and ensure slip resistance.
  • Quarterly high-level maintenance: Routine access cleaning for lighting, ductwork, and ventilation systems to maintain optimum presentation and hygiene.
  • Sustainable cleaning methodology – As with our entire SnowDome operation, we will put sustainability at the forefront to ensure these new areas fully align with our ESG protocols for this prestigious client.

This ongoing programme not only preserves the high-end aesthetic of the gym but also supports asset longevity — protecting the significant investment The SnowDome has made in its Technogym equipment and facility infrastructure.

The Right Tools for the Job: Technology in Action

At we clean, our approach combines advanced cleaning equipment with the expertise of skilled professionals. In a facility as dynamic as The SnowDome gym, precision and efficiency are essential.

We deploy:

  • Robotic vacuum systems programmed for autonomous operation, providing consistent floor cleaning even during off-hours.
  • Battery-powered scrubber-driers with low-noise emissions to allow safe operation in occupied environments.
  • Specialist mat-cleaning machines for sanitising functional training zones and yoga mats.
  • HEPA-filtered vacuum technology to ensure fine particle capture and improved indoor air quality.

These tools not only improve cleaning outcomes but also contribute to our commitment to sustainability — reducing energy consumption, water usage, and chemical dependency across all operations.

Training, Safety, and Standards

Every we clean operative assigned to The SnowDome undergoes comprehensive site-specific training prior to deployment. Under the guidance of our Company Training Manager, Duncan Thomson, staff receive instruction on:

  • COSHH compliance and safe chemical handling
  • Manual handling and equipment operation
  • Infection prevention and control procedures
  • Safe systems of work within active leisure environments

Our workforce is further supported by a structured audit and inspection regime, ensuring measurable performance standards and continuous improvement. This approach guarantees that the cleaning service delivered at The SnowDome consistently exceeds industry benchmarks.

Partnership in Action

Contract Manager Ryan Halford reflected on the project’s success:

“The launch of the new Technogym facility was a major milestone for The SnowDome, and our cleaning team rose to the challenge brilliantly. The deep clean demanded precision, teamwork, and a real understanding of the surfaces and materials we were dealing with. Thanks to the professionalism of our staff and the use of advanced equipment, we achieved an exceptional result and have now established an ongoing cleaning programme to match.”

James Smith, Director at The SnowDome, added:

we clean have been a trusted partner for over three years, and their contribution to the successful launch of our new gym has been outstanding. Their proactive communication, technical expertise, and attention to detail are second to none. We look forward to continuing our collaboration as we grow and develop our facilities.”

Looking Ahead

As The SnowDome continues to innovate and expand its leisure offerings, we clean remains fully committed to supporting its journey. Our focus moving forward includes:

  • Continuous service development in line with client needs.
  • Ongoing training to enhance operative capability and safety.
  • Sustainable cleaning innovations that minimise environmental impact.
  • Data-driven performance monitoring to ensure measurable quality outcomes.

Whether maintaining the exhilaration of the slopes, the energy of the gym floor, or the warmth of a family dining area, we clean is proud to be The SnowDome’s trusted partner — ensuring every space remains spotless, safe, and ready to perform.
