We Clean Powers Ahead with All-Electric Operations at Paradise Birmingham!

At We Clean Ltd, we believe sustainability and service excellence go hand in hand. That’s why we’re proud to announce that all cleaning operations at Paradise Birmingham are now powered entirely by all-electric.

This milestone is part of our we clean GREEN Environmental Management System (EMS)—a strategy designed to embed sustainable practices across every aspect of our operations. By investing in cutting-edge electric machinery and vehicles, we’re not only reducing emissions but also setting a new benchmark for sustainable facilities management in the Midlands.

Cutting-Edge Sustainability in Practice

The move to an all-electric fleet is about more than swapping out equipment—it’s about reimagining how cleaning services can actively contribute to a city’s environmental goals.

  • Cleaner Air: By eliminating petrol and diesel-powered machinery, we’re reducing harmful emissions and supporting Birmingham’s and the Paradise Estates’ ambition to become a Net Zero city.
  • Quieter Operations: Electric equipment significantly reduces noise pollution, creating a calmer, healthier environment for workers, visitors, and residents.
  • Future-Proof Technology: Our investment ensures we remain at the forefront of sustainable cleaning innovation, ready to adapt as technology evolves.

This initiative alone is expected to save over 700kg of CO₂ emissions annually, complementing Paradise Birmingham’s wider sustainability strategy.

The All-Electric Fleet

Our new fleet at Paradise Birmingham includes some of the most advanced equipment available today:

  • Glutton Electric Urban Waste Vacuum Cleaner – a powerful, battery-powered machine capable of covering large floor areas and collecting everything in its path. It emits zero CO₂ emissions and disinfects surfaces as it cleans.
  • Compact Pedestrian Scrubber Dryers – ideal for high-footfall areas such as lobbies, corridors, and washrooms, delivering a spotless finish without emissions.
  • Cordless Backpack Vacuums – lightweight, battery-operated units that allow operatives to clean efficiently in hard-to-reach areas while reducing noise.
  • Electric Service Vehicles – small electric vans and utility vehicles used by the on-site team to transport equipment and materials across the estate without producing exhaust fumes.
  • Battery-Powered Sweepers – designed for both indoor and outdoor use, keeping Paradise’s public realm and pedestrianised areas clean and litter-free.

Together, this equipment ensures that every aspect of cleaning at Paradise is powered by electricity — a clear demonstration of our commitment to innovation.

Experts in Managing Mixed-Use Estates

Paradise Birmingham is a unique and complex environment, blending world-class office space, retail, leisure, and public realm. Managing cleaning operations across such a diverse estate requires more than just equipment—it demands expertise, adaptability, and precision.

At we clean, we’ve built a reputation for delivering exactly that. Our approach includes:

  • Tailored Solutions: We adapt our methods to the specific needs of each space, from high-traffic lobbies to landscaped outdoor areas.
  • Seamless Integration: Our teams ensure consistent standards across all environments, maintaining the estate’s reputation as a premier city centre destination.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Since 2019, we’ve worked closely with the Paradise management team, aligning our services with their sustainability goals and long-term vision. We also work with leading tenants such as Goldman Sachs.

This expertise allows us to anticipate challenges, respond quickly, and deliver results that enhance both the functionality and the prestige of the estates we manage.

Voices Behind the Change

Paul Concannon, Director at We Clean Ltd, explains:

“Through our we clean GREEN programme, we are committed to leading the way in sustainable cleaning practices. The introduction of all-electric machinery at Paradise Birmingham is a clear demonstration of that commitment. We’re proud to show that commercial cleaning can deliver exceptional standards while also reducing environmental impact.”

Caroline Rudge, Commercial Manager at Federated Hermes MEPC, adds:

“We Clean has been an invaluable partner at Paradise, consistently delivering high standards while sharing our vision for a greener future. Their investment in electric vehicles and equipment is another important milestone in our shared sustainability journey.”

Shaping a Greener Midlands

As a Birmingham-headquartered organisation, we’re proud to contribute to the region’s Net Zero ambitions. By embedding sustainability into every layer of our operations, we’re helping to create cleaner, healthier spaces for the communities we serve.

Paradise Birmingham is proof that with the right vision, technology, and expertise, sustainable facilities management is not only possible—it’s the future.

At we clean, we’re not just maintaining spaces—we’re shaping them for a greener tomorrow.
