Working closely with clients and supply partners is an integral part of developing the we clean brand, as we fully appreciate the benefit of aligning ourselves with clients own objectives and expectations, as well as tailoring our core services by working with like-minded suppliers.

We have consciously developed an internal, Environmental Management System (EMS), we clean GREEN. This system places ‘green cleaning’ at the forefront of our business and reinforces the commitment we have to minimising the environmental impact of our daily operations.

Our Environmental Management System has been developed to reduce our carbon footprint.

With that in mind, we have recently introduced a fully electric, Nissan e-NV200 van to the HORIBA MIRA contract in Nuneaton. The world-renowned MIRA Technology Park, spanning over 840 acres, requires our team of 30 plus on-site Cleaning Operatives to work in multiple buildings, hence this 6 seater all electric vehicle meets the needs of our team perfectly without harming the environment.

The on-site Cleaning Team at HORIBA MIRA.

With a range of 160 miles, this vehicle can comfortably cover this large site. Featuring easy charging modes, it is incredibly versatile and able to carry Operatives and equipment efficiently all over site.

MIRA Technology Park is a fitting place to introduce this new electric vehicle, as for over a decade HORIBA MIRA have been pioneers in expanding the use of electric technologies within motor vehicles, providing solutions to optimise increased power consumption and reliability whilst reducing cost.

Karen Lord, Site Cleaning Manager at HORIBA MIRA, is thoroughly proud to have introduced this new vehicle onto the park, commenting:

“It’s absolutely brilliant, aligning ourselves with HORIBA MIRA’s green philosophy is something which is very important to us, and it displays how we clean are at the forefront of environmentally friendly cleaning.

The new vehicle eliminates all noise pollution and accommodates all the necessary cleaning equipment we need to move across site, as well as ferrying staff around with ease. We are also pleasantly surprised with how easy the charging process of this vehicle is and with the numerous charging points located across the park, it is a real win-win situation.”

As a company we are fully committed to being environmentally pro-active and our EMS is constantly seeking ways to minimise waste and pollutants. As well as our new electric vehicle, we work closely with our principal supply partner, Merton Group UK who supply environmentally friendly paper products, Eco Dosing chemicals and various service innovations that inherently protect our shared environment.

We share a passion to reduce our carbon footprint, and that is encapsulated in their management message: “working towards a safer environment.”

We hope you will join us in wishing Jane Shields a very warm welcome to the organisation.

Jane is coming on board as a Contract Manager, bringing with her over 25 years worth of cleaning industry experience. This experience will be invaluable as she manages a varied portfolio of clients throughout the North Birmingham and East Midlands Area.

    Jane Shields. Contract Manager

Jane cut her teeth in the cleaning industry working for the NHS, originally as a Cleaning Operative, something which she feels gave her a great foundation to build on, as she learnt first hand the in’s and out’s of a cleaning role. This would pay dividends later in her career as she graduated to supervisory roles, and then into management.

As Jane moved into management she was responsible for maintaining 30 contracts within the local community, which she said kept her on her toes:

“I enjoyed the fast paced nature of the role, i loved building long-lasting relationships with the people i worked with, and took great pride in maintaining top performing contracts.”

The MG site in Longbridge will be a contract which Jane will manage.

Jane has now been with we clean for just over three weeks, it has been a busy few weeks for her, including plenty of site visits and inductions, and she has been working hard in making an effort to introduce herself to as many members of the organisation as possible, in order to hit the ground running and make a smooth transition. She commented:

“Like anybody starting a new job i was a little nervous, but i feel more settled now, i can see the business has a family feel, from the Directors down to the cleaning staff. Everybody is very passionate and i’m looking forward to immersing myself into the business.”

A unique we clean collaboration recently took place as our in house Window Cleaning Team, joined forces with our pest control partner, Midlands Pest Control, to carry out an external high-level atrium glass on the impressive Boundary House commercial office building in Wythall.

The exterior of Boundary House. Highlighting the magnitude and complexity of the high level project.

These works were specifically carried out during a weekend in order to minimise any disruption our client, REI properties and their Tenants that are housed within the building.

Adding an extra component of difficulty to this already intricate project was the fact that covering the outer exterior of the atrium glass roof is a protective netting designed to prevent any infestation or nesting of pigeons. This netting had to be removed before any cleaning works could begin and then be replaced with new netting and re-instated once the clean had been completed.

Window cleaning has changed drastically over the past 20 years and we clean has embraced fully the technological advances that make this critical cleaning discipline much safer, such as the introduction of Reach & Wash™ purified water cleaning systems. This innovative system helps to maintain building glazing to the highest possible standards, if an appropriate cleaning schedule is implemented.

All our operators are trained and hold licenses for the use of powered access equipment and they are also IPAF licensed technicians.

Overseeing the project was Director, Paul Concannon who ensured all the logistics ran smoothly and that the client was completely satisfied.
