With over 10,000 professional, administrative and service staff on the estate every day, including many more visitors and tourists, Brindleyplace has established itself as the premier business and leisure destination for Birmingham.

Conveniently located a stone’s throw from the City Centre, this high-profile Estate is a collaboration of mixed use buildings built around three attractive public squares, namely Brunswick, Oozells and the all-important Central Square which is the focus of daily activities across the Estate

With a consistently heavy footfall and an exceptional reputation to upkeep, Darren McLean, the Brindleyplace Estate Cleaning Manager for we clean who has over 10 years’ experience of maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of this iconic site, relishes the tough challenge he faces on a daily basis:

“On such a large site, with managed office spaces, green areas, waterfronts and various other different features, there is always something required of our extensive service team.

“Whether it’s the annual Dragon Boat Race where additional hours are required to support the marketing initiatives surrounding this popular event or managing and recycling waste from the extensive array of bars and restaurants on-site during the busy Christmas period or simply facing our lovely British weather, we’re always faced with a unique challenge which we take great pride in overcoming.”

Brindleyplace has helped accelerate the growth of Birmingham’s economy, and been a driving factor in attracting large corporations to not only invest in the City, but to call Birmingham their home.

Paul Concannon, we clean, Director is immensely proud to provide both internal and external cleaning services to Brindleyplace since 2009 and is particularly complimentary of the role Darren plays within the complex:

“Darren not only manages a large service team but he also provides valuable support to the Brindleyplace Facilities Management Team on-site via his daily Estate checks, offers support to other contracting companies on-site as well as carrying out important administrative duties such as the provision of work permits and risk management controls.”

“Darren is a shining example of a we clean employee, he is highly professional, totally committed and takes great pride in his work.”

Brindleyplace is a prime example of the extensive range of cleaning services that we clean are able to offer, from interior office cleaning support to high-pressure jet washing of the water’s edge towpath, we clean provides the Total Cleaning Solution (TCS). The world renowned old Headquarters of the Birmingham Assay Office in Newhall Street, Birmingham has recently been revamped into an innovative hub for the growing number of creative businesses in the City.

This Grade II listed building was originally used to test and hallmark precious metal items.

However, in 2014 property developer TCN acquired the building and aimed to blend the old and the new in a way that would respect the building’s rich heritage, whilst still attracting forward thinking tech firms.

The responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of the facility has been placed with We Clean Limited who have provided critical cleaning support during the re-opening and the ongoing building management operation since October of last year.

Contract Manager for we clean, Maureen Francis has forged a strong relationship with the TCN Centre Host, Ally Mitchell who commented:

“I see we clean as an extension of Assay Studio Management Team, I have a great rapport with Maureen and I feel they buy into what we do here, in that we want to maintain the buildings character, and Maureen and her team help us achieve that.”

With we clean already serving a variety of office spaces and venues throughout the City, Maureen relished the opportunity to add the Assay Studio’s to her impressive client portfolio:

“Having worked with the Birmingham Assay Office for a number of years we were delighted when TCN chose we clean to provide the ongoing cleaning support for the new Assay Studio project, it’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege to work with Ally in this historic landmark building.”

In a period where there is more office space under construction than ever within Birmingham, The Assay Studios are a refreshing addition to the City’s thriving creative sector – one which Birmingham based we clean are very proud to serve!
