We Clean Limited has served Selly Oak Trust School for over 14 years and Akosah Yiadom Sarpong, who has worked as an Operative on-site for just over a decade has received his 10 Year Service Award.

Sarpong receiving his award from Director, Paul Concannon, Contract Manager, Debbie Rhodes and Location Manager, Tom Hannon.

Sarpong is a University graduate and is now fulfilling his dream of working as an accountant, yet he continues to work as a Cleaning Operative in the morning as he loves the school, and deeply appreciates the respect he receives from we clean Management. Within Selly Oak TS there is a strong team spirit, something which Sarpong enjoys immensely.

The We Clean team at Selly Oak Trust School.

Director, Paul Concannon commented “Sarpong is a truly lovely and gentle man who possesses aonderful humility in his work and has demonstrated consistently over the past 10 years exemplary reliability, passion and professionalism to his cleaning role on site at Selly Oak Trust School!”

Sarpong has been exemplary during his career with we clean and along with the rest of the team is looking forward to working hard at Selly Oak TS and growing the fantastic client rapport that has been built.

With a career spanning nearly 50 years in both the private and public sectors, Keith Dixon, we clean’s Non-Executive Director, possesses invaluable knowledge from the business world. Starting out as a Pharmaceutical Salesman in 1968, to becoming Chief Executive of Triton Plc, Keith’s experience and insight will play a pivotal role in forging the controlled future growth of we clean

At 70 years old, there isn’t a lot that Keith hasn’t seen within business, and when choosing to work with we clean, he had to ensure that the Contract Cleaning company aligned with his core values. He also had to feel that he could help the growth of the Birmingham-based organisation and subsequently improve shareholder value.

Describing his Non-Executive role at we clean, Keith believes that “in its simplest form I am essentially like a critical friend, I try to lend my advice and help solve problems through my past experiences in business and ultimately aid the growth of the Company.”

One of the key things that initially attracted Keith to we clean was the passion everybody within the business has for the cleaning industry. With over 400 Cleaning Operatives working daily throughout Birmingham and the wider Midlands area, coupled with an impressive client base which has been carefully built over 14 years, Keith was confident he would be able to work with and help the team.

“With we clean my non-exec role is slightly different, and whilst they did seek me out, I already knew Director, David Harker from a previous business. And when I came in I met the whole board, who gave me a good grilling and really got to know me and my past experiences.”

With the recent growth of the Sales and Marketing Team, a new state of the art, user-friendly website and Keith Dixon’s business prowess it is an exciting time for we clean.

This months Dee Richards Pride Award Winner is Head Office Receptionist, Rachael Peacock. In her short time here, Rachael has grown within the Business to become the face and voice of our Head Office facility and is an integral part of day to day operations.

Rachael receiving her award from Directors, Paul Concannon & David Harker and HR & Office Manager, Gaynor Powell.

The hard work it takes to carry out Rachael’s role does not go unnoticed, and is greatly appreciated by Director, Paul Concannon who commented:

“Rachael has a fantastic work ethic, she’s constantly working and ensuring things are running smoothly. Whether it’s problem solving, or receiving information from one of our sites around the Midlands, Rachael steps up.”

Rachael took 5 minutes out of her busy schedule to answer a few questions about her experience at we clean and what it is she does from day to day:

What’s your name and where are you originally from?

I’m Rachael Peacock and I’m originally from Colley Gate.

How long have you worked for we clean?

Coming up to two years, but its gone really quickly.

What’s your role within the business and what does your working day look like?

My official title is Receptionist and Administration Assistant, but I do all sorts, all my days are different from the one before. I look after all of the franking mail, all of the calls that come into our office. Then I’m in contact with Area and Location Managers with things such as toilet checks, job listings and pretty much everything else in between.

Do you have a favourite thing about working for we clean?

It’s a very tight-knit family business, everybody is really friendly and gets on very well and I genuinely enjoy coming into work each day.

What do you feel makes working for we clean different?

Having previously worked at the AA which is a massive company, it’s nice that with we clean being a bit smaller, it’s more personal. I’m able to put my own twist on everything I do here which I like.

Do you have any hobbies outside of work? Anything you particularly enjoy on a weekend?

I tend to just spend time with my boyfriend or at my dad’s house, maybe go to the cinema or something along those lines.

Finally, what does the award mean to you?

It really means a lot to me, to be awarded it after being here for a fairly short amount of time is really special, and makes me feel like I’m on the right track and doing my job properly.

We are delighted to welcome Corrinne Streete to our ever-growing Head Office team. Corrinne has come on board as our new Sales Executive and with over a decade’s worth of sales experience she is well prepared and full of desire, to help we clean dominate Birmingham’s Commercial Cleaning Market.

Corrinne in her first days here already sees huge potential for growth “There is a fantastic foundation here for me to build upon and i am excited to use my sales experience to help expand on the already impressive client base. It’s clear how passionate everybody is here, from the Directors down to the Cleaning Operatives and i can’t wait to play my part in reinforcing we clean‘s place as Birmingham’s premier contract cleaning company.”

Director, David Harker commented “i’m incredibly excited to welcome Corrinne into our passionate Head Office team where she will be responsible for sourcing and converting new business sales into our dynamic organisation. Our investment in Corrinne is the final piece in our development plan as we look to move to the next level, and grow the business through new sales opportunities.”

Corrinne and Robb Paton, Contract Manager with their brand new Vauxhall Astras.

Corrinne is looking forward to seeing first hand the great rapport we build with our Clients whilst also learning the in’s and out’s of the Cleaning Industry. Corrinne will play a pivotal role in the controlled growth and future success of the Business, as she will be dedicated to helping we clean become ‘World Famous In Birmingham’.
